College Change Gang: Programmed for Consent
In a previous blog post we posed the puzzling question:
How does a government get future generations to consent to perpetual chains of debt servitude to fund present entitlement schemes?
The obvious answer is:
You get them to love their servitude by being part of the scheme, engender allegiance and let them think it is their idea.
And, of course, you play on the social herd factors of feelings, emotions, and relational group bonding….you let them think, that they are actually “thinking.”
These are accomplished, primarily, via the major propagandist agencies of education and media. By the way, the word propaganda was changed to “public relations” back in the early 1900’s. (see Lippmann, Bernays, Chase, etc.)
This scheme has been repeated multiple times in the annals of accurate history (which few seem to be studying these days). Recall the nihilist movement in Russia, the Fabian socialist movement in England and the United States, and the Nazi Youth movement in Germany.
The common ground for these movements was, and is the education systems; pre, primary, secondary and particularly college and universities. Colleges and Universities are particularly notorious for bashing of traditional values.
Recall the father, Tevye’s devotion to Tradition in the musical Fiddler on the Roof, set in turn of the century Russia.
(Tevye) ”Because of our traditions, we’ve kept our balance for many, many years. Here in Anatevka we have traditions for everything… how to eat, how to sleep, even, how to wear clothes. For instance, we always keep our heads covered and always wear a little prayer shawl… This shows our constant devotion to God. You may ask, how did this tradition start? I’ll tell you – I don’t know. But it’s a tradition…
Because of our traditions, everyone knows who he is and what God expects him to do.”
The character Perchik represents the university educated nihilist revolutionaries. In the 1870’s and 1880’s these university-educated folks had set out to change the culture of traditional Russia, by relational educational means. They did this by integrating into towns and villages, armored with their new weapon: Science absent of God.
Nihilists rejected all forms of authority except science. They elevated scientific reason above the church, the government, the family and discarded traditions of Russia as well as Western forms of Republican governance. By assuming positions as teachers, doctors, lawyers, fellow workers, and as volunteers even in menial positions, these “educated” nihilists basically sought to advance anarchy.
As Tevye shouts:
”Tradition. Without our traditions, our lives would be as shaky as… as a fiddler on the roof!”
Trashing tradition leads to tragic changes and despotic tyranny.
History documents what transpires when men cut free from Godly traditions and follow their roiling passions under the guise of “scientific reason.”
It was during the same time of the nihilist movement in Russia, that the Fabian Socialist groups formed and advanced into British and American universities such as Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, Barnard, New York University, and University of Pennsylvania, etc. etc. under the name of the Intercollegiate Socialist Society.
Many of the promoters and proselytes of cultural change to socialism would also be lecturing professors and signers of The Humanist Manifestos, I, II or III.
Humanist Manifesto signer and societal Reconstructionist Theodore Brameld (1904-1987) defined what he meant by “effective education”, in his 1965 book “The Use of Explosive Ideas in Education: Culture, Class and Evolution.”* Brameld saw it as crucial to use the schools to
“Alter the economic and political system” through a “planned change in patterns of cultural order.”
Brameld envisioned schools and education as:
“Organized human action aimed at modifying the customs, habits, mores, and other attributes of inherited culture.”
Evolutionary biologist, eugenicist, educator, internationalist, first Director General of the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Sir Julian Huxley (1887-1974) author of Transhumanism was the brother of Aldous Huxley, (author of The Brave New World) and also a signer of the Humanist Manifesto.
Theodore Brameld and Julian Huxley were buddies and believed that culture could be changed consciously to accomplish the same political ends that the Russian eugenicists were experimenting with to bring about their political goals.*
To Brameld and Huxley, culture was:
“Primarily characterized by the way human beings think and feel then behave according to their thinking and feeling. Culture has an objective reality, but this reality is spiritual in its innermost nature.”
Thus the inclusive and integrative push for social, emotional and meditation methods…and the incorporation of yoga, spirit guides, and an assortment of multi-cultural spiritism of pantheism in many educational and community centers…. yet most notably a trashing of traditional Judeo-Christian values.
You see, as Brameld states,
“Although we may define revolution as thoroughgoing social and cultural change, it does not necessarily follow that every revolution is accomplished by violence. In countries where democratic and parliamentary machinery is sufficiently and flexible, revolution may be achieved, says Marx,
through legal and educational processes– a hope of the American Socialists, among other parties influenced by Marxism.”
Also noteworthy in this socialist, humanist, Brameld scheme:
“Eventually no profit-making enterprises remain.”
Article Fourteen XIV of the Humanist Manifesto states its opposition to “acquisitive and profit-motivated society.”
Back to the present, and the recent fertilizer on changing culture: the executive orders expanding taxpayer bailout of College loans. In June we witnessed, yet again, (2007,2009,2014) the expansion of federal government loan forgiveness (taxpayer funded forgiveness) in the form of:
1. Capping loan repayments at 10% of monthly adjusted gross income
2. Forgiveness after 10 years for those who work for a 501(c) 3 NON-profit or in the public sector.
3. Private sector employed debtors can stop paying off their loan debts after 20 years.
This clearly is a use of rewards to those who:
Take on more debt, stay in college and universities longer,
Promotes the length of collegiate/ university indoctrination into socialist ideologies (Degrees of Deception), (you become like who you surround yourself with..)
Plays into the socialist schemes of non-profit/public sector government controlled positions such as:
Education, healthcare, advocacy, globalization, social work, administration, bureaucrats, technocrats, Political staffers etc. influencing and perpetuating a socialist dependency culture and
Serves to fulfill Dewey, Tucker, Clintons and the Lumina Foundation’s goals 2025: 21st Century Soft Skills for Globalization. The Brave New One World…
While at the same time: dethroning God, destroying Capitalism, discarding traditional virtues and values, creating a suicidal allegiance to the Socialist state and, draining dry the Conservatives who continue to pay taxes. Taxes which are employed to hack away at their own traditional values.
There you have it, the Progressive Socialist program to destroy the hope of a future virtuous citizenry, intrinsic motivation, and traditional dependence on God;
And to replace these with rewards cards (degrees) of external behavioral conditioning and dependence on an anti-God government intent on a course of corrupted change and chains of servitude.
After the nihilist paved and Bolshevik enacted revolution, the proletariat of the Soviet nations who had incredulously accepted the “hope and change” movement and believed themselves members of a culture of connected social justice elite, found themselves exploited more mercilessly than ever. A joke of the time asked:
“What is the difference between Capitalism and Communism (Socialism)?
“Capitalism is the exploitation of man by man.
In Communism (Socialism) it is the reverse.”
Any “ism” or culture cut loose from the restraint of Godly virtues upon the human nature results in exploitation and bondage.
Time to get the Fiddlers off the Roof who are fiddling with the roots of Tradition, in the consciences of youth bribing them to forge their own links in the change gang.
