Usury and You. Fiat Economics’ Finance, Funds, Fraud and Fallout: When Babel’s Bubbles Burst
“Do not charge your brother interest, whether on money or food or anything else that may earn interest. You may charge a foreigner interest, but not a brother Israelite,
so that The LORD your God may bless you in everything you put your hand to in the land you are entering to possess.”
“And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you?
Even ‘sinners’ lend to ‘sinners’, expecting to be repaid in full.
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.
Then your reward will be great, and you will be
sons of The Most High,
because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”
Jesus Christ, as recorded by Luke 6:34-36
Usury, the taking of interest on money lent, was regarded in Christian Europe as both a sin and a crime. Churchmen pointed to Christ’s teaching quoted above, as well as to the numerous Scriptures in the Old Testament, the Torah, the Tanakh and the New Testament against the sting of charging for the use of money or items borrowed; and against the oppressing and enslaving of one’s fellow countrymen.
Translations of the Hebrew and Chaldee roots of the words used for Usury, Debt, Creditor, Money-lender from Strong’s Dictionary (5377,5383,5391,5392) include: naw-shaw’, naw-shak’, neh’-shek which mean:
to lead astray, beguile, seduce, deceive greatly; creditor, exact, extortioner, lend, usury; to strike with a sting as a serpent; to oppress with interest on a loan;–bite, lend upon usury; interest on a debt: usury.
The Bite of Usury:
Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) in his epic allegory The Divine Comedy addresses the horrendous sins of usury when Virgil is explaining the structure of lower Hell. Virgil states the punishment of those practicing violence, fraud, and treachery.
“Since fraud’s a sin peculiar to mankind, God hates it more; and so the fraudulent sink further down…Now fraud—which bites at every conscience—can be used on one who puts his faith in you or one who pockets no such confidence. (Canto eleven)
As they are wrapping up this didactic time at the edge of lower Hell, Dante asks Virgil for clarification:
“Could you go back a little, though,” said I, “when you said usury’s an offense against God’s bounty? There’s a riddle to untie.”
“Whoever understands philosophy and heeds it, notes, not in one place alone, how Nature takes her course,” he said to me,
“From Intellect Divine and from its art, and in your Physics*, if you gloss it well,
you’ll find, not many pages from the start, That your art strives to follow, as it may, Nature—- you are the pupil, she the teacher.
So we might say that human industry Is the grandchild of God. From these two things—
Remember the first part of Genesis— Man must derive his life and his advance,
And since the usurer takes a different path,
Setting his hope in something else, he sins,
Despising Nature and her follower.” (Inferno, Canto eleven)
From The Beginning Man, woman, mankind was to depend on God. From Genesis man was to be in relationship with God. Particularly after The Fall, man was to derive his provision from his labors and man’s recognition of his dependence on God to bless his efforts and to look forward to his forthcoming redemption: man’s liberty in Christ.
God modeled in Creation the Sabbath rest, and clarified explicitly on Mount Sinai the directive of “six days you shall labor and on the seventh day you shall rest”. Shabbat: rest, cease from labor, desist. The Shabbat is not just that man needs rest, but that man must recognize his dependence on God for provision and for salvation. This again was emphasized in the command that the The Land was to rest the seventh year. The Shemittah, The Sabbatical Year.
“But in the seventh year the land is to have a Sabbath of rest, a Sabbath to the LORD. Do not sow your fields, or prune your vineyards. Do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the grapes of your untended vines. The land is to have a year of rest.”
By leaving the fields untended and unguarded the Jew was to demonstrate it was God’s power over nature that supplied his bounty and that true life comes when man stops striving for material gain in favor of dedication to spiritual growth. Slaves were also set free, and kinsman redeemed.
Laborers in the Global economy no longer acknowledge a Sabbath. Most businesses are open 7 days a week, 365 days per year, and many boast 24-hour access. Multitudes of workers are enslaved to schedules including twelve hour shifts, shifting workdays, rotating weekends and overwhelming demands to processes and metrics gathering for central planners, which leave them dazed, hazed, glazed and in constant state of disconnected limbo. Most of healthcare, hospitality, food service, manufacturing, transportation, first responders etc. fall under these inhumane demands. No rest for the weary, when the wicked hold the whip.
Even greater slavery for the countless billions shackled under in sweat houses turning out mass junk for mass consumerism for the mass marketers and box stores. Every American in “the Market” via whatever funds or accounts, likely has their hand on these whips, although distance, mass participation, and mass ignorance attempt to assuage guilty consciences.
The Year of Jubilee, Jovel.
“Count off seven Sabbaths of years— seven times seven years—so that the seven Sabbaths of years amount to a period of forty nine years. Then have the trumpet sounded everywhere… Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; each one of you is to return to his family property and each to his own clan. …do not sow…do not reap….Do not take advantage of each other, but fear your God.” Leviticus 25:8
The Jubilee laws bring home the truth that the land and liberty are Divine Gifts and that ownership reverts to those whom He wills it. If folks realize this it will help them refrain from cheating, usury, fraud, stealing as they reflect on Who owns the Land. By counting the years the nation(s) are constantly reminded of this.
When Capitalism Catalyzes Nimrod’s Rebellion
Shortly after the deluge, there arose Nimrod, a builder of cities, towers and enslaver of men. On the planes of Shinar, men sought to defy God. Men still seek to defy God. Capitalism under the yoke of Globalization has metamorphed to fraud, to deceive, shackle, enslave, oppress, and crush mankind who has blindly fallen under its yoke of false security.
Throughout the millenia from The Garden, Towers of Babel have been fashioned euphemistically offering men “security” or “securities” in exchange for Liberty under God.
Nimrod’s Fascist Collective speeds hastily to the abyss via mortgages, retirement plans, mutual funds, 401K, College 529’s, stocks, bonds, annuities, trusts, securities, FSA’s, HSA’s blah, blah, blah, all feeding a self-propelling compulsion loop of mutual oppression.https://dawnkazmierzak.net/2014/06/26/little-red-beware-of-whom-you-let-hold-your-goodie-baskets/
Nearly all publicly traded investment vehicles create more oppression over the very same investors who fund and often labor in these globalized companies. Each investor and fund manager, trader, technocrat, administrator, analyst demands greater returns in the fiat economy based largely on deceiving others to purchase it. Or intimidation of penalties for “early” withdrawal from The Market accounts.
This is an oppression no less real than the slave trafficking, the indentured servitude, the putting up of children for collateral that has been practiced and condemned throughout millennia of history.
This is the very Usury in which God prohibited the Jews from participating and which Jesus also taught against. This is also why God commanded The Sabbath, Shemittah and Jubilee.
The Jews, like Shakespeare’s Shylock, in The Merchant of Venice have gotten a bad rap over this.
If one connects the links between the Rothschilds, European Banking moguls, Schiff, Rockefellers, Carnegies, Harrimans, Woodrow Wilson, WWI and WWII and the Federal Reserve System, fractional banking, the European Market, International Monetary Fund etc. with the current EU and potential Grexit consequences coupled with The United States’ unquenchable debt expansion, one can recognize that it is not only a Jewish stereotype– but that Christians too, have built their share of Nimrod’s Trade Towers.
“In reality, the laws on usury were observed in the breach, Christian bankers could conceal high interest rates by not recording the sums borrowed, only those repaid. Jewish moneylenders probably drew the greatest opprobrium because they concentrated on petty loans. Hypocrisy, and a measure of animosity were perhaps inevitable…. Even so, the prominent role of Jews in European credit and banking is a fact of history.” Norman Davies on Usury in Europe, A History.
An interesting twist of this self-inflicted demise–that of exchanging God’s provision for that of Crony Capitalist’s Central Planners of fraudulent “security”, is that the Qur’an is also adamantly opposed to Usury. Which fits in the equation of proclaimed jihad against the infidels, Jews and Christians, quite clearly.
The Jews, who rejected the Theocracy in 1095 B.C., and stopped practicing Shemittah, the Sabbatical rest of the land, went into Babylonian Captivity in 605 B.C. as a consequence of their disregard for God’s laws. They were captive for 70 years, one year for each of the Shemittah rests they had failed to observe. Cyrus of Persia, as foretold in Scripture, permitted their return to Israel after he conquered the Babylonians in 536 B.C.
In 445 B.C. Nehemiah led a group of Jews from Babylon (Persia) back to Jerusalem. He was appalled to see what fellow Jews were doing to fellow Jews. Folks were starving for grain; they were mortgaging their fields, vineyards and homes to get food; and had to borrow money to pay the king’s tax on their fields and vineyards.
“Although we are the same flesh and blood as our countrymen and though our sons are as good as theirs, yet we have to subject our sons and daughters to slavery. Some of our daughters have already been enslaved, but we are powerless, because our fields and our vineyards belong to others.”
When I heard their outcry and these charges, I was very angry. I pondered them in my mind and then accused the nobles and officials. I told them, “You are exacting usury from your own countrymen!”
So I called together a large meeting to deal with them….I continued, “what you are doing is not right. Shouldn’t you walk in the fear of our God …? …Let the exacting of usury stop! Give back to them immediately their fields, vineyards, olive groves and houses and also the usury you are charging them—the hundredth part of the money, grain, new wine and oil. “Nehemiah 5
Just as God used the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Vikings, Magyars, Moguls and Turks to accomplish His purposes to draw mankind to dependence on Him,— perhaps He is permitting this current scourge of unfathomable brutality to awaken the slumbering before the gates of t’shuvah **(repentance) close.
The Lord will have His Shemittah. He will settle accounts with those rebellious to His Sovereignty.
If you’re involved in Usury, in the markets, funds of fraud, stocks, fiat currency accounts best prepare for reality and for dependence in Whom dependence is due.
“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”
Luke 6: 36
Merciful, “rakh-oom”, full of compassion, love, mercy
There is nothing merciful about usury, debt, fraud funds, global markets or the oppression of others via the pooling of monies for said “capitalism.”
**T’shuvah, repentance, has the basic meaning of “return” or “come back.” One who does t’shuva is on who, after going astray, returns or comes back to the right path.
